Samples stored at ?80?C were used to detect CS and ATP synthase activity. CS activity was determined by measuring coenzyme A formation at 450 nm with a Citrate Synthase Activity Assay Kit (H-109821, Shanghai Hengyuan Biological Technology Co., Ltd., China) according to the manufacturer’s instructions [53]. ATP synthase activity was determined by measuring Pi formation at 450 nm with an ATP Synthase Activity Assay Kit (H-172421, Shanghai Hengyuan Biological Technology Co., Ltd., China) according to the manufacturer’s protocols .
